Our Story

Jonathan and Tammy Bousman welcome you to the heart of Walnut Cove, NC!

In September 2018, we stumbled upon a vacant, older 40-acre farm, and in an instant, we fell completely in love. The property—with its rolling hills, towering trees, vibrant sunsets, and rustic, red-dirt fields—felt like a place of unlimited potential.

We didn't know then that it would become a "Pick-Your-Own Flower Farm," but we knew we had found our home. Combining Jonathan’s strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit with Tammy's background in the corporate world, we set out to transform this quiet acreage into a place of beauty, rooted in teamwork.

Our decision to focus on flowers was a natural circling back to our roots. Both of us grew up with cherished memories of helping our parents and grandparents tend to vegetable gardens and flower beds. As adults, returning to the soil felt like coming home.

We began our farming journey slowly, starting with vegetables, then expanding to fruits, and finally, flowers. Watching our efforts grow and harvesting the bountiful crops brought us immense joy. Soon, our harvests overflowed, and we began happily sharing and selling small quantities to friends and family.

It was the joy of sharing our bounty and the community that naturally gathered around our small farm stand that sparked our "Aha!" moment. Maybe, just maybe, we could enlarge our vision.

In the fall of 2022, that dream took root. We officially launched Blooming Acres Farm, built on the belief that we could share the beauty, the peace, and the simple joy of farm life with everyone outside our immediate circle.

And that wasn't the only exciting addition! In 2023, We welcomed our first Highland Cows to the farm. These gentle, shaggy creatures quickly became the farm's favorite residents, adding a unique and photogenic element to our landscape.
